March 14th, 2020 | Canggu, Bali, Indonesia

You have a unique gift. And it’s the best charitable contribution you can make.

Anyone can donate money to support a charity. What if instead you could work alongside other talented knowledge workers and contribute your unique skill set to help improve how that charity functions?

What is Charity Makeover?

It’s a hackathon in which we come together for one day to fundamentally change the game for a handful of charities. These are scrappy, local causes with founders who are working hard on important problems but lack the in-house digital marketing expertise. We execute high-leverage projects in the course of a weekend that significantly advance their cause.

Welcome to the first ever Tropical Charity Makeover

Mon, 9-mar
Pitches from team leaders and charities

This is a virtual meet & greet where the charities pitch their greatest challenges, the team leaders pitch their vision for solutions we can execute in a day and recruit volunteers with the necessary skills to make it a reality. This starts the team formation process.

Friday, 13-mar
Vision setting and finalizing teams

Dinner and beers are provided on the rooftop of a local cowork space and we use this time to get to know each other,  do some vision setting as a group and then break into teams and queue up tasks and ensure all stakeholders have the necessary access so we all can hit the ground running on Saturday morning.

Saturday, 14-mar
Working

This is where it all comes together: one day of pure, uninterrupted execution where we deliver the proposed assets. All meals are all provided along with access to mentors who help the teams with various challenges. We wrap up the event with a celebratory dinner and demo night showing off the output of all our collective efforts and hand over the keys to the charities to their shiny new digital infrastructure.
